ABOUT SHAYNE
Shayne is married to Shanelle and they have three married children and ten grandchildren. Over the years, he has proven himself to be a pioneer of lay ministry in the Church, particularly in the areas of evangelisation, community development and pastoral formation. Shayne is the Founding Executive Director of NET Ministries in Australia (a national youth ministry of evangelisation reaching 30,000 youth and young adults each year), former Moderator of the Emmanuel Community and Director of Uganda Mission. His current roles include:
  • Manager of FX (Francis Xavier) Mission (a new initiative in University Ministry by NET Ministries which works in conjunction with Catholic University Chaplaincy/Campus Ministry)
  • Director of Mission and Faith Formation at the Holy Spirit Provincial Seminary which includes working with seminiarians as a formator and lecturer

Shayne's passion for finding new innovative ways of proclaiming the Gospel is a constant motivator which has taken him throughout Australia and to many parts of the world as he seeks to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). He has recently returned from Uganda where he participated as a presenter in an evangelisation formation program for more than seventy university students and young professionals from across the country. In the last month, Shayne has been appointed by the Australian Bishops Commission for the Plenary Council as a member of the Plenary Council Executive Committee.
