SCENE (Sydney Congress Embracing the New Evangelisation)

SCENE is held in non World Youth Day (WYD) years as a follow up event to previous World Youth Days. It is a multifaceted experience, like a mini-WYD, and allows participants to be immersed in the New Evangelisation whilst providing a witness to the vibrancy of the Catholic Church in the streets of Sydney.

The programme includes a three day Vocations Expo in Martin Place, catechesis each morning, lunchtime outreach activities on the city streets, workshops, pub talks, art installations, live music performances, Mass, the Divine Office and Eucharistic Adoration – just to name a few!

Past participants have spoken very highly of the SCENE experience and the profound effect it has had on their faith and their motivation to get involved with the mission of the Church:

“Thank you for this amazing experience. It is the perfect place for diocesan input for the youth, young adults and families. A great mix of education, prayer and tradition with flexibility for personal time and all at an affordable price.”

“I experienced my faith in the words I had repeated so many times: One, Holy, catholic and Apostolic. I saw and met people from all walks of life, cultures, ages that were nourished by the richness of our faith.”
